recipient of Sahitya Akademi Fellowship. Nilamoni Phukan was a writer, poet and
freedom fighter. He popularly called as Bagmibor in Assamese literary
circle. Nilamoni Phukan became a honorary Sahitya Akademi Fellow in the year 1973.
The Sahitya Akademi Fellowship is the highest honour conferred by the Sahitya
